Answers to our most commonly asked questions and what to expect when visiting Funky Monkey Ranch for a private tour or event.

Exotic Animal Encounters

Do we get to pet and hold all animals?

While we strive to provide the most interactive tour as possible for each guest, we can never guarantee all animals will let you hold them. Exotic animal encounters are built around trust and comfort level. Our animals love to eat from your hand and some adore snuggles while others are shy and hesitant. Just like humans, some animals may take more to certain people than others. We do our best to provide you with their favorite snacks and treats for enticement.

Why are some animals in different areas we cannot access?

We take in many rehomes and rescues of primates, therefore not all animals are socialized enough for all people. Our top priority is the health and well being of our exotic animals and the safety of our guests. On any given day an animal may not be in the mood for visitors and may be separated based on our judgement, without notice to guests beforehand. We have plenty of exotic animals on our tours that if you are unable to interact with one, we guarantee to fill the time with others.

Are the exotic animals healthy to be around?

All the animals here at Funky Monkey Ranch are under the care of an exotic veterinarian. All of our primates have been blood tested and are tested negative from any contagious diseases. However, primates can get sick from humans and spread germs from the common cold, stomach virus and flu. We ask that you please reschedule your tour if anyone in your family has been sick within the last five days of visiting. It is imperative that we keep a healthy atmosphere here at the ranch for the health of the animals and ours.

Why do we sign a liability waiver?

It is required for anyone to participate in the unique opportunity to get up-close with exotic animals that you sign a liability waiver. Although we have our animals in a domestic setting and work with them daily on training, they are still wild animals. Any animal with teeth can bite, we do not remove claws or nails from any of our animals therefore unintentional scratches could happen. No guest will be left alone with any of our exotic animals and we strive to always provide an extremely safe environment. For the protection of our animals, we have legal liability forms produced by a lawyer.
